The primary responsibility of the Tooling Coordinator is to ensure tooling and raw material is available to meet production requirements. These tasks consist of planning and expediting the activities of the tool room and the saw shop, coordinating with and working closely with other production departments, scheduling, and working with external vendors as necessary. This position will report directly to the Director of Continuous Improvement.
Additional Responsibilities include:
- Manage and update the tooling database
- Collaborate with the Production Planning team to generate a rolling two-week plan for internal and external die repair
- Track the team’s progress against the rolling tooling repair plan on a daily basis
- Collaborate with tool room personnel to ensure that tooling is dispositioned in a timely manner
- Update and maintain tooling status in M1 (MRP)
- Ensure that tooling staging areas are used appropriately
- Collaborate with external tooling vendors to manage priorities, deliveries, logistics, purchase orders, and quality concerns
- Provide updates regarding tooling status, and changes to the tooling repair plan, to the production planning team
- Collaborate with relevant personnel on continuous improvement activities primarily focused on, but not limited to, internal welding and machining
- Other activities as assigned by the Director of Continuous Improvement

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Associate degree required.
- Basic administrative skills required
- 2+ years related experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience with materials & planning production, ideally within a manufacturing environment
- High degree of knowledge and understanding of a variety of manufacturing processes
- Experience interfacing directly with front-line manufacturing personnel
- Basic computer literacy including experience with the Microsoft Office suite
- Experience of with MRP (Material Requirement Planning) systems
