Job Title: Licensed Clinician for Outpatient Clinic
Join our client, a prestigious nonprofit organization located in New York City, in making a difference in the lives of individuals in need. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated licensed clinician to provide comprehensive mental health services in a full-time capacity
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and provide individual and group psychotherapy sessions
- Offer crisis intervention using a variety of therapy techniques to address mental health issues, emotional changes, and psychiatric disorders
- Manage workload efficiently through centralized scheduling, advanced planning, and coordination with supervisory and administrative staff
- Perform screening and assessment using validated tools for depression, trauma, substance abuse, and associated criminal risk
- Develop recovery-oriented treatment plans in collaboration with clients, collaterals, and stakeholders
- Coordinate care with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, administrative staff, and other service providers
- Utilize evidence-based screening for violence risk and implement risk management protocols to serve high-risk clients effectively
- Document treatment contacts using collaborative documentation practices
- Implement evidence-based approaches to treatment consistent with organizational values and trauma-informed care principles
Qualifications:
- Licensed master’s degree in social work or mental health counseling (LMSW, LMHC, LCSW or LMHC),
- Minimum of two years of experience providing direct services to individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, and co-occurring medical conditions in a community-based setting
- Proficiency in computer literacy, including electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Specialization in recovery-oriented, evidence-based practices
- Experience working with diverse adult populations, including those with serious mental illness and complex psychosocial needs
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred
- Ability to develop group curriculums and facilitate group psychotherapy sessions
