We are looking for a_ LEAD ENGINEERING FIELD TECHNICIAN_ to collect field data for
condition assessment projects involving sanitary sewer, stormwater, and water piping
systems. You will be responsible for managing a crew(s) to conduct several types of
investigative field activities including potholing investigations, flow monitoring, MH
inspections, smoke testing, dye testing, night flow investigations, and CCTV
inspections. We are looking for motivated folks to learn and grow with our company!
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- General knowledge of sanitary/storm sewer systems and water piping systems, construction, maintenance, or operation
- Ability to read and interpret design/construction plans and specifications
- Some travel is required
- Physical condition must be able to meet the demands of the position:
- The ability to lift heavier weights regularly with assistance (manhole covers typically weigh between 75 to 150 pounds)
- The ability to respond quickly to sounds
- The ability to move safely over uneven terrain
- The ability to work in confined spaces
- The ability to work in or around sanitary sewer and storm water environments. The ability to work in residential/commercial crawl space
- The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations
- The ability to safely climb ladders
- The ability to work in extreme weather conditions (winter and summer temperatures; we typically don’t work in torrential downpours)
- The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly throughout the day (safety vest, long pants, work shirt, hard hat, and steel toe boots)
* NASSCO (PACP, LACP, and MACP) certifications are preferred
* Ability to read a survey grade rod
* Ability to operate and use a towable air compressor and air excavation tool
* Must have strong teamwork skills
* Must have strong leadership skills
* Must have basic computer skills and versed in Microsoft Word and Excel
* Must be at minimum a high school graduate, college degree is preferred
