Job Title: Electric Utility Project Manager
Location: Lake Mary, FL/Hybrid
Duration: 36-Month (3-Year) W2 Contract initially
About Us:
The Electric Utility Project Manager will serve as the primary point of accountability or work under the general direction of a Project Director or Senior Project Manager. This role is responsible for managing or assisting in the management of all project phases, ensuring success in scope, schedule, cost, quality, environmental, safety, communications, security, and integration.
You will typically oversee a portfolio of White or Green ranked projects per the Project Management Center of Excellence (PMCoE) Risk-Informed Project Ranking Process. Higher ranked projects with greater risk may be assigned with an Enhanced Support and Oversight Plan (ESOP). You will manage projects with low to moderate risk impacting various levels of the company, senior management, or external agencies. Assignments may include projects with specific risk-informed requirements based on your experience and skills.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Management:
- Lead, guide, and coordinate overall project activities in accordance with established company policies, procedures, systems, and requirements.
- Provide leadership, oversight, and direction to internal and external organizations involved in the project (Development, Engineering, Project Controls, Estimating, Construction Management, Supply Chain, Legal, EHS, QA/QC, Operations, Communications, Stakeholder Engagement, Regulatory, Security, Fuels, Transmission, etc.).
- Guide matrixed team members daily and interface with their functional leaders regarding placement, development, and conflict resolution.
- Communication & Coordination:
- Establish and maintain effective communications among project stakeholders.
- Lead or assist in project meetings to ensure open communication between team members, key stakeholders, and management.
- Prepare and communicate monthly project status, kickoff meetings, and weekly/monthly required communications.
- Project Planning & Execution:
- Develop and communicate project plans, ensuring adherence to PMCoE standards and business unit procedures.
- Plan assigned projects, including scope, schedule, cost, safety, and quality aspects.
- Champion project planning processes, including scope and work definition, estimating, schedule formation, monitoring, cost control measures, procurement/contracting strategies, equipment and vendor selection, start-up, commissioning plans, and integration processes.
Basic/Required Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree or High School Diploma/GED with 10+ years of related work experience in lieu of a degree
- 5+ years of related work experience in addition to an Associate's Degree
- Proficiency in Project Management, Decision Making, Critical Thinking, and Problem Solving
- Experience in project-related work
- Skills in Risk Management, Project Leadership, and Team Collaboration
Desired/Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP Certification
- Engineering Degree
- Experience in Electrical Transmission
- Utility Technical Certifications/Training: PMI (PMP or CAPM) Certification, CMII Certificates, and/or Professional Engineer License
- Experience in the Utility Industry
- Knowledge of Construction Management
- Proficiency in project-related Scheduling/Cost Controls
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $67.00 - $72.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
