In order to combat the critical nursing shortage our community is facing, Beacon and Ivy Tech Community College are collaborating to create a program that provides financial aid to nursing students and help expand Ivy Tech’s capacity to increase enrollment for the Beacon Scholars program. In less than a year since its inception, Beacon is currently supporting nearly 70 students attain their ASN through the Ivy Tech program.
As part of this collaboration, Beacon is pleased to offer a unique and innovative opportunity for RNs that enjoy supporting patients at the bedside while also serving future nurses in our community as a Faculty RN.
The Faculty RN position is an exempt position that is based on 80 hours per pay period. We are offering wages of $36.00 an hour ($74,880 annually) and up to $57.88 an hour ($120,390 annually) with a signed 3 (three) year agreement upon completion of orientation requirements.
- Your hourly rate will depend on year of licensure.
- You will be required to work one bedside shift per pay period (bi-weekly), the remainder of your hours will be spent in the Faculty role onsite at Ivy Tech.
JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Leader of Faculty RN Program, provide instruction (classes, labs, & clinicals) within ASN and Practical Nursing programs; assist academic administrators with curriculum development, student advising, program enrollment; provide institutional support and community service. Fully supports the College's mission and strategic plan initiatives.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
A qualified faculty member in nursing is one who has an earned master's degree in nursing from a regionally accredited institution, is a Registered Nurse licensed in Indiana, and has two years of directly related work experience OR has an earned Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution, is a Registered Nurse licensed in Indiana, and either is enrolled in a MSN degree plan or willing to obtain MSN within 3 years. Preferred Qualifications: Higher Ed teaching experience.
