Position reports directly to CFO.
General Accounting:
- Lead month-end closing process (5 days) and monitor & review assigned tasks up to
- completion. Review financial statements periodically during closing and resolve
- discrepancies / escalate issues in a timely manner. Ensure complete reconciliations
- for all P&L and balance sheet accounts.
- Manage a team of two (staff accountant and AP associate) and delegate and
- distribute workload equitably. Anticipate changes in workload and staffing levels as
- business needs change.
- Identify and communicate areas for operational cost savings, abnormal spending,
- process improvements and efficiencies.
- Point-person for year-end audit; provide information to auditors with urgency as
- requested and follow-up on outstanding items.
- Support sales audit (loss prevention) & bank account reconciliations.
- Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and
- completeness.
- Maintain organized, accurate and complete accounting records, both electronically
- and hardcopies, as necessary.
- Assist with ad hoc projects as needed.
Experience and Key Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
- Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), with
- relatable experience in fixed assets, accounts payable management, and retail lease
- accounting.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of accounting experience.
- Franchise operations / retail business exposure is highly desirable.
- Curiosity is key, with a strong attention to detail & accuracy.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Proficient in computer applications – specifically with QuickBooks ; MS Excel

Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
