JOB DUTIES
The Ironbound Community Corporation (ICC) is a 50+-year nonprofit organization whose mission is to engage and empower individuals, families, and groups to realize their aspirations and work together to create a just, vibrant, and sustainable community. ICC strives to address the needs of our diverse, multi-lingual, multi-cultural community. Today, ICC serves more than 1,000 children and families daily with various programs and services. ICC also strengthens communities through advocacy, neighborhood organizing, and community development initiatives.
The Ironbound Community Corporation is seeking a Case Manager for its Breaking The Cycle - Domestic Violence Program. The
Breaking The Cycle Domestic Violence Program Case Manager is responsible for delivering direct services to domestic violence clients, conducting outreach, and coordinating engagement initiatives within the community. This position involves assessing client needs, providing referrals, collaborating with external agencies, and developing comprehensive family treatment plans. The Case Manager will work closely with a diverse team, bridging cultural differences, and ensuring effective communication with clients and community members.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
● Conduct thorough intake and assessment of domestic violence clients.
● Identify client needs and develop tailored family treatment plans.
● Coordinate and conduct outreach activities to engage various community members.
● Collaborate with team members to address a wide range of issues including parenting skills, health, youth activities, and environmental justice.
● Link residents to critical information and referral services.
● Assist clients and their families in accessing necessary resources and support services.
● Work collaboratively with program team to develop and implement comprehensive intake procedures and evaluation systems.
● Coordinate activities with external service agencies, school sites, and neighborhood associations.
● Provide oral and written translation services as required.
● Write monthly reports and correspondence documenting client progress and program activities.
● Act as a liaison with neighborhood associations, representing the program effectively.
● Attend external meetings as the program representative and client advocate.
● Work closely with administration to assess family needs and develop specific programming tailored to identified needs.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS OR QUALIFICATIONS, SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS
● Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related fields (preferred).
● Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
● Experience in working with diverse staff and ensuring accountability.
● Knowledge of Essex County and City of Newark social services network (a plus).
● Excellent human relations skills with sensitivity to cultural differences.
● Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred).
● Proficiency in computer skills, including Google Suite, Word, Excel, Power Point, and social media platforms.
