Sales Purpose: To build strong and lasting relationships with transformer owners and position SD Myers as the preferred solution provider to meet their needs. To turn interest in SD Myers solutions into a commitment; build relationships and manage interactions; connect transformer owners needs with solutions; and secure commitments.
Position Purpose: Focuses on customer transformer oil testing renewal and retention, establish good customer service relations to assist our customers with any questions or concerns, and grow respective territories to maintain a strong customer base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively contact existing testing customer base to coordinate renewal courier and mail-in oil testing.
- Utilize the communication process tool to better understand the customer’s needs.
- Clearly promote all services related to the customer’s need to maximize the customer’s ability to make proper decisions.
- Proactively contact former customer opportunities to re-sell services.
- Work with field technician’s scheduling team to efficiently schedule courier work as needed.
- Utilize the current CRM (Sales Force) as a tool to record daily customer activity, such as opportunity statuses (wins/losses), competitor activities, and follow ups.
- Work closely with other sales groups through impact leads to promote new business growth within respective territories.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma
- Must possess a minimum of 1-2 years sales experience in addition to previous work experience, preferably in customer service and/or retail setting.
- Database experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of transformer maintenance and/or electric industry desired.
- Must have a strong customer service orientation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn/use company’s CRM tools.
- Excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently and problem solve.
- Strong initiative, team building, meeting deadlines and follow through skills.
- Ability to understand the marketplace, the competition and how the competitors operate.
- Ability to learn, understand, and put into practice the components of the sales and communication process tool.
Work Conditions:
- Most of work for this position is conducted indoors, in a conventional office environment, in an office or cubicle work station, with low noise.
Physical Demands:
While working, the ability to:
- perform work at workstation for extended periods of time, typically at least 8 hours a day, sometimes more or less if business needs require;
- occasionally lift objects up to 25 lbs;
- regularly hear, see and talk; and
- occasionally stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, and climb throughout the day.

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
