POSITION OVERVIEW: As the primary point of contact for Mother Tongue guest interactions in the Heimat living room, the Juice Barista is responsible for making & selling food & beverages using their knowledge, hospitality and service skills. Must be pleasant, conscientious and professional with excellent knowledge of food & beverage selections. Must be able to operate effectively as part of a team, communicate clearly, and ensure smooth service operations and quality service.
Compensation: $18.00 per hour plus tips
Responsibilities:
- Perform all cashier duties, such as taking and ringing up orders correctly and efficiently
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the menu, and be able to answer any and all questions about the dishes, their contents, and possible modifications
- Prepare all espresso-based beverages, teas, juice and smoothies in accordance with standards set by Heimat.
- Provide high-volume service
- Provide warm, thoughtful, solution-oriented customer service
- Assist with managing an efficient flow of service during busy times; communicating with the kitchen when items are low or 86'ed
- Maintains the highest quality, consistent product standards.
- Greets all guest with fast, friendly, personalized service and develops a rapport with guest by learning their names and favorite drinks
- Reports all customer complaints to manager of duty
- Clean or sanitize work areas, utensils or equipment
- Assume other duties as assigned

Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands.

- Must be able to reach and handle the computer, keyboard and desktop items.
- Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required.

- Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by restaurant environmental systems; however, must be able to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10°F) and kitchens (+110°F), possibly for one hour or more.
- Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for 8 hours in length.
- Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
- Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other departments of the restaurant on a timely basis.
- Must be able to lift trays of food or food items weighing up to 30 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
- Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. frequently.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.

While performing the duties of this job, the Juice Barista is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk or hear. Frequently required to use hands and arms to finger, handle, reach or feel objects, tools or controls. Juice Barista is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The Juice Barista must be able to lift and/or move up to 30 lbs., be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time and able to safely lift and easily maneuver plates, cases of water, chairs and dining room tables.
