Position Summary:
The main purpose of the Project Draftsman is to provide high quality architectural drawings using AutoCAD and/or Microvellum. The Project Draftsman will utilize all Adams Group drafting standards. The incumbent must represent the company with quality and timely submittals and must always strive to understand the customer’s objectives, keeping in mind Adams Group’s standard of production.
Required education and experience:
- Must have high attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret complex architectural drawings
- Above average computer skills and with the ability to learn new skills as needed
- Ability to work at computer for long periods of time
- Ability to read and interpret job specifications
- Knowledge of materials and processes related to cabinetry

Essential functions:
- Interpret architectural drawings accurately and draft them into shop drawings for submittal
- Create, maintain, and update drawings to assure timely manufacturing of product to customer’s specifications
- Prepare production drawings by incorporating redlines when shop drawings are returned after review form Architect and/or contractor
- Incorporate field measurements into the drawings and prepare for production
- Utilize all available resources to confirm that the design will work
- Communicate effectively to internal points of production, both verbally and in writing
- Be available to continually communicate with Project Managers, Estimators, Manufacturing team members, Engineers and upper management
