We are searching for a Director of Tax to be the Internal expert responsible for managing the entire tax department. We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to deal effectively with clients and management. This a unique opportunity for the right candidate to grow, joining our diverse, well-established and growing company. We are seeking a skilled Tax Director to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in tax law, asset management, financial statement preparation, and accounting software.
This role is 100% in office 5 days/week, 8am-5pm; However please note that hours will change during tax season based on the needs and demands of the tax department.
Salary: $175-$250K, DOE
What we need:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent field – Masters in Taxation preferred
· 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
· 3+ years with supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates
· CPA certification
· Ability to interact with C-Suite professionals, in-house Financial Advisory team and clients
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to apply critical thinking in daily tasks and research projects
· Ability to multi-task and stay organized
· Exceptional work ethic and integrity
· Financial services experience is highly preferred
Responsibilities Include:
· Prepare tax projections
· Maintain a working relationship with selected clients
· Perform compliance review and tax return signoff
· Handle client consultations on planning opportunities and changes in tax law
· Working on proposals and assisting in developing new business
· Meeting prospective clients and developing relationships with new and existing clients
· Expanding services to existing clients
· Supervising engagements and special projects undertaken by the firm
· Overseeing all aspects of the client engagement
· Supervising, training and evaluating advanced level staff
· Coaching, mentoring and assisting staff so they can develop and assist in the growth of the tax function
· Maintaining knowledge of new tax issues and general business trends that affect the client
· Assist Partners on research, projects, planning
· Distinguish a personal reputation for excellence inside and outside the firm
