UNIT DESCRIPTION:
The Senior Behavioral Health Center (SBHC) is a geriatric psychiatric/behavioral unit. Registered and licensed practical nurses, certified nursing assistants, unit coordinators, nurse practitioners, social workers, occupational therapists, activity coordinators, dietitians and a physician medical director staff the unit.
Duties/Responsibilities

Provides direct nursing care to geriatric population that suffers both significant psychiatric and physical co-morbidities.

Ensuring that a safe and therapeutic environment exists and is maintained for this population.

Safe administration of medication, including a thorough knowledge of psychiatric medications.

Collaboration with all members of the interdisciplinary team in order to provide comprehensive psychiatric and medical care to both patients and their families.

Minimum Requirements:

Current Massachusetts RN License

Evidence of Continuing Education

Previous experience working as a RN required, Med/Surg Nursing Experience preferred

AHA BLS required.
