General Summary: The primary responsibility of the Assistant Program Director is to assist Program Director in the planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and directing the residential program for the St Louis Center. The Assistant Program Director will direct and be responsible for the performance of Direct Care Supervisors and the Direct Care Staff as well as implementing the mission of the St. Louis Center that is a caring residential family, in a living and leaning environment providing for the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of children and adult with developmental disabilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- To foster the mission of St. Louis Center, a faith-based organization, in proclaiming the Gospel through the service of charity
- Assure that the programs can be properly maintained to meet the individual needs of the residents
- To establish a teamwork relationship with administration, medical staff, social work department, supervisory staff and other ancillary staff to accomplish the residential program goals.
- To develop and implement programs, which will address the spiritual, social, physical, and emotional needs of each resident.
- To respond to critical situations and to provide appropriate intervention.
- To coordinate the development of regularly scheduled in-services/training programs as well as maintaining the records.
- To attend and participate in professional activities and programs.
- To evaluate staff and in consultation with the Program Director making recommendations for hiring/dismissals.
- To have regular meetings with supervisory staff to assist in identifying concerns and improving services.
- To attend scheduled meetings (weekly supervisor, staff, intakes, PCP etc.).
- To participate as part of the clinical team in the development of the individual treatment plan for residents and to evaluate its implementation.
- To be responsible for the evaluation of staff.
- To have a flexible work schedule in order to meet the needs of the Center, including weekends and holidays.
- Be responsible for other duties as assigned by the Administrator.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent communication, leadership and people skills.
- Highly developed managerial skills.
- Knowledge of licensing requirements for developmentally disabled facilities.
- Knowledge of programs for developmentally disabled individuals.
- Driver’s license and a good driving record.
- Ability to pass a drug test, and physical.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors in Human Services, Healthcare, Social Work, Psychology, Special Education or related field and one (1) years’ experience in Administration in a residential care facility or equivalent.

Pay: $42,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
