JOB SUMMARY
The Production Lead oversees production lines in accordance with work instructions to produce product that meets Mama Lola’s Standards of Quality.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Receives production orders and delegates tasks to appropriate team members to ensure production process runs smoothly and efficiently.
2. Maintains open lines of communication with the Production and Quality Assurance teams to ensure adherence to product quality standards and dough consistency.
3. Regularly monitors and records quality specifications, promptly addressing any process deviations such as incorrect pack counts, inconsistent sizes, or deviations in weight or Julian dates.
4. Measures case weights against standard specifications, promptly notifying operators and quality team of any discrepancies.
5. Constantly monitors product appearance, taking corrective measures when necessary to maintain it within specifications.
6. Actively works to minimize production waste, consistently monitoring the process.
7. Accurately completes all necessary records and reports in a timely manner, in accordance with applicable work instructions.
8. Conducts appropriate product reprocessing when needed.
9. Assists in training new team members.
10. Provides suggestions to improve processes, procedures, and department in support of company goals.
11. Follows Company GMP’s and occupational safety regulations to ensure compliance.
12. Follows all food safety principles and legal requirements.
13. Maintains a positive and constructive work environment within the department as well as with the other departments and promotes teamwork.
14. Maintains a clean work environment.
15. Responsible for following all safety practices such as wearing Protective Personal Equipment (PPE).
16. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
A. High School Diploma or equivalent.
B. Minimum 1-year experience working as a production lead for food manufacturer or similar job role.
C. The ability to read and comprehend recipes, formula sheets, safety guidelines and other written material.
D. The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement.
E. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
F. The ability to multi-task and deal with uncertainty, make good decisions, handle pressure, provide follow-through and attention to detail.
G. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) principles is preferred.
H. Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
I. The ability to obtain and maintain a valid AZ food handler card within 30 days of hire and throughout the duration of employment.
J. Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and a positive work ethic.
K. Bilingual in English/Spanish is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
a. Ability to stand for extended periods and move around the production area.
b. Capacity to lift, push, pull, and carry objects weighing up to 50lbs pounds.
c. Capability to bend, stoop, reach, and twist comfortably to perform various tasks.
d. Safely climb ladders no greater than 2-4 feet high.
e. Aptitude to operate production equipment and machinery, including repetitive hand and arm movements.
f. Agility to maneuver in confined spaces and navigate around obstacles safely.
g. Endurance to work in a fast-paced environment and withstand fluctuations in temperature and humidity.
SCHEDULE
4am start time Monday - Friday. Weekends and Overtime as needed. (Note: For the first few months 5:45am start time.)
