Generations Healthcare is in search of a Regional DSD/IP Consultant to oversee 13 facilities in Northern CA.
$90,000- $115,000
Position Summary:
Under minimal supervision and with a high degree of independent judgement and latitude for decision making, consults with facility leadership and provides support to ensure company infection control and staff development programs are compliant and always maintained.
This position will require in person visits, typically requiring travel 3 days per week.
Education and Experience:
Must be a Licensed Vocational or Registered Nurse holding a valid nursing license in good standing in the state of CA
Infection Prevention and Control Training Certification & Director of Staff Development Certification required.
Must have, as a minimum, two (2) years clinical experience in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related healthcare facility.
Must have, as a minimum, six (6) months training experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.

Essential Functions:
Provides consultation and mentorship for facility infection preventionists to ensure programs include: planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating and continuously improving program in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern such requirements in nursing care facilities.
Reports information related to compliance for established infection prevention and control policies and practices to the Director of Clinical Services.
Develop policies and procedures and provide education and training and implement evidenced-based infection prevention and control practices.
Ensure that the facilities are following current CDC, OSHA, and local regulations concerning infection control or standard/universal precautions.
Research and provide written and oral reports/recommendations to the individual facility’s Administrator, as necessary/required, concerning the infection control program of the facility.
Develop, maintain, and periodically update infection control precautions and aseptic techniques that successfully correct problem areas. Provide ongoing education to assigned facility staff to ensure understanding and compliance with infection control protocols.
