We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quality Control/Quality Assurance Manager to join our dynamic team. Our ideal candidate is a Civil Engineer with a passion for quality assurance in the field of construction material testing.
Job Summary / Duties
The QC/QA Manager will be responsible for overseeing all laboratory certifications, managing technician certifications, conducting audits (LADBS, CCRL, AMRL , CALTRANS, US Army Corps of Engineers, DSA, IAS, etc.), tracking equipment calibration, and ensuring compliance with ISO 17025 standards. Additional responsibilities include assisting with cost proposals, providing exceptional customer service, and conducting and overseeing specialty testing for epoxies and grout and concrete mixtures trial batches.
The job description does not constitute an employment agreement and is subject to change at any time by the Laboratory Director. Under the Supervision, direction and training of the Laboratory Director, essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
Manage and oversee all laboratory certifications, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
- Manage and maintain technician certifications and training programs, ensuring their qualifications are up-to-date.
- Conduct and coordinate internal and external audits and implement corrective actions to continuously improve our quality management system.
- Track and maintain the calibration of all laboratory equipment, ensuring timely scheduling and adherence to calibration schedules.
- Ensure adherence to ISO 17025 quality management system standards
- Assist in the preparation of cost proposals for new and existing clients.
- Provide exceptional customer service, fostering strong relationships with clients and addressing their testing needs.
- Manage and perform special testing for materials like epoxies and grouts and concrete mixtures.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a materials testing laboratory
- EIT (Engineer in Training) certification.
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 17025 quality standards
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office ( Outlook ,Word and Excel )
- Other certifications such ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician and Masonry Laboratory Testing Technician is a Plus but not a requirement.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Salary: The pay range for this position is between is $40 to $49 Dollars (USD) per hour ( 40 to 45 hrs per week) , but is subject to change based on candidate's relevant individual experience
