**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a detail-oriented Brokerage/Underwriting Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in the underwriting process and/or brokerage placement for difficult to place risks/exposures and special insurance situations all the while ensuring compliance with company policies and governmental regulations. The daily activity consists of assisting with brokerage placements, interacting and connecting with our retail insurance partners, rating and preparing quotes.

**Responsibilities:**
- Support our top revenue producing underwriter in evaluating insurance applications.
- Interact with our insurance carriers, markets and retail insurance broker clients via email and phone.
- Assist in preparing quotes and conducting analysis of underwriting guidelines from various carriers to screen for acceptability
- Assist in preparing and submitting brokerage submissions to our markets, following up with the required documentation to obtain bindable quotes from our brokerage markets.
- Collaborate with a team of six (6) to support this busy production unit quoting new business and renewals.
- Participate and assist in the underwriting process.
- Help in the preparation of quotes to our retail broker partners.
- Pre-rating and draft/select correct policy language on insurance contracts.
- Documentation management.

Time Zone:
- This position is for a team on the west coast, so starting hours will be 9am to 6pm PST for at least the first three (3) months. We can be flexible with working hours depending on your ability to process time sensitive documents throughout the day.
