GENERAL SUMMARY
CCD’s nursing programs are designed to create competent, ethical and confident health care practitioners in an innovative, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Primary duties include, but are not limited to, curriculum oversight, teaching (didactic, simulation, laboratory and clinical), student mentoring, student remediation, curriculum development, maintaining accurate records that are in compliance with all State Board of Nursing and ACEN requirements, attending faculty meetings, and participation in committees that support the mission of the college and the nursing program.
All faculty may be required to teach in days, evening, and weekends as needed.
This is a 9-month position, renewable-term appointment, with the option of summer teaching loads. All summer assignments will be paid in addition to the posted salary.
The position reports to the Director of Nursing Education Program.
Primary teaching responsibilities will be at the BSN level. There is also an expectation to teach practical nursing courses as needed.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Teach a full course load in Nursing which may include theory, laboratory and clinical settings and different delivery methods.
- Assume instructional leadership roles as needed. Instructional leadership roles may include mentoring part-time instructors, developing curriculum, working with industry and community groups, serving on departmental and college-wide committees, and assisting with the accreditation process.
- Work with the program administrator and instructors to ensure ongoing compliance with governing organization requirements and nursing accreditation
- Utilize technology and effective teaching strategies to develop students' critical thinking skills
- Actively participate in systematic plan for curriculum design, program evaluation and program revision.
- Actively participate in developing, implementing, evaluating, and updating the purpose, the mission, and objectives of the Nursing Education Program.
- Work with the Director of Nursing Education Program (DNEP) to develop student success plans and remediate “at risk” students.
- Actively participate in developing, evaluating, and revising student admission, progression, retention, and graduation policies within the college’s policies.
- Participate in academic advising and guidance of nursing students.
- Perform other related administrative duties as requested by the dean and/or the DNEP.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: (Required)
Master's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Education from a regionally accredited college or university
Licensure/Certification: An active unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in Colorado.
Experience: (Required)
- A minimum of two years of full-time, or equivalent, professional nursing clinical experience.
- Clinical expertise in one or more practice areas including adult health, community health, psychiatric/mental health, parent/child, or women's health nursing and/or skills and simulation labs.
- Experience in nursing education or serving as a preceptor for nursing students in clinical settings.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in diverse environments.
- Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member.
- Ability to deliver curriculum in a dynamic environment that engages students.
- Adaptability and organizational skills that will allow supervision of students in laboratory and clinical settings providing appropriate and constructive feedback.
- Technology knowledge and skills that will allow development and integration of current technological educational methodologies in and out of the classroom.
- Demonstrated ability to teach and manage a diverse student group.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $88,000.00 per year
