Your Impactful Safety Specialist Role:
As our Safety Specialist, you'll be at the forefront of creating a safe and secure environment for our employees and visitors. Your expertise will ensure that our safety programs are innovative, and we comply with all necessary regulations. You would be working with a team where collaboration, and a supportive environment drives what we do. You would also be working closely with our on-site Athletic Trainer in developing meaningful solutions to reducing injuries.
Key Responsibilities of an Environmental and Safety Professional:
-Champion Compliance: Ensure our operations meet OSHA, DES, EPA, and other regulatory standards.
-Lead Safety Initiatives: Spearhead the Incident Review Board and Safety Committees to drive our safety culture.
-Manage Claims: Oversee workers' compensation programs, providing essential support to our team members.
-Conduct Audits: Perform regular safety and hazard audits, identifying and addressing potential risks.
-Develop Policies: Craft and implement safety policies and procedures that keep our workplace safe and efficient.
-Analyze and Act: Investigate accidents, analyze trends, and recommend proactive measures.
-Provide effective and innovative ways to coach and promote safety to our associates.
What You Bring to the Loss Prevention and Risk Management Team:
Experience and Expertise:
-Bachelor's degree or equivalent based on education and at least 3 years of experience.
-Skills and Knowledge: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, a thorough understanding of safety regulations, and the ability to develop and enforce safety programs.
-Preferred: Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
-Moderate exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, and loud noises.
-Ability to conduct inspections and handle light physical tasks.
