PURPOSE AND PERFORMANCE GOALS
Assists Store Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Country Store. Ensures customer satisfaction and provides guidance and training to store associates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
- Ensures proper sanitation and that consistent high quality is maintained.
- Observes sales flow and recommends adjustments in order to adhere to cost control and quality procedures.
- Ensures store items are adequately ordered.
- Ensures proper receiving, storage, and stocking of store items.
- Ensures proper storage and rotation of food products in compliance with health department regulations.
- Ensures policies and procedures for the Country Store, including compliance of all company standards relating to quality of products and services.
- Conducts inventories.
- Answers customer questions and resolves problems in a timely and professional manner.
- Inspects facility to identify any maintenance, repair, or clean up needs.
- Assists the department manager in interviewing, training, planning, assigning, and directing work. Makes recommendations when hiring, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates. Addresses complaints and resolves problems.
- Assists in the coordination of department members that may include but is not limited to: Store Attendants and Stock Attendants.
- Assists in monitoring business volume forecast and plans accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs and other expenses.
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction.
- Assists manager in communicating any changes or new policies and procedures to the department.
- Maintains flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed by the Department Manager.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Attends staff meetings.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED. One-year front desk or two years customer service experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be able to communicate clearly with guests, customers, supervisors, and fellow employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Must be able to calculate amounts and apply basic addition, subtraction and multiplication.
REASONING ABILITY
Must be able to analyze routine data to make appropriate judgments regarding the process of guests checking in/out of the Resort.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS – Sanitation Training. Alcohol Service Training (Must meet state age requirements for the service of alcohol). Illinois UST Class C Operator Training for dispensing of gasoline.

Employees must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Use of hands, fingers, and arms is required. Job frequently requires standing, walking, bending, and crouching.
HOURS
Due to the seasonal nature of the hospitality industry, and the fact that the Resort provides guest services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, any employee may be required to work rotating shifts, night shifts, and/or overtime. Also, depending on the season, hours may be reduced at any time.
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
