Job Description:
The company is one of the largest magnet wire & communication cable manufacturers in the world and has multinational operations in 10 countries with $2 billion revenue. This position will be assisting in preparing quarterly financial reporting package and yearly financial statements for a global magnet wire joint venture. This role will be responsible for preparing some of the holding company's monthly general ledger close entries and is a key member responsible for global consolidation system implementation and maintenance of financial consolidation system and closing our global operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of US GAAP and IFRS standards and financial reporting guidelines, analytical and problem-solving skills. Collaboration is required with the global business units on financial reporting.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and prepare consolidated financial statements and footnotes for a global magnet wire joint venture in accordance with IFRS quarterly & US GAAP yearly including but not limited to, consolidated profit and loss statements, segment P&Ls, balance sheet, and cash flow statements;
- Responsible for monthly global consolidation including the loading and mapping of the data into the system and preparation of intercompany reconciliations and eliminations;
- Maintain the consolidation systems (BusinessObjects) for all monthly closings;
- Support the new consolidation system implementation (OneStream) and perform the data validation;
- Provide support, maintenance, and the continuing development of the consolidation application including mapping, loading, and reconciliation of data;
- Maintain and review chart of accounts and mapping across subsidiaries to ensure consistency for financial reporting;
- Develop and maintain standard reports such as income statement, Balance sheet, and cash flow in US GAAP and IFRS and prepare ad-hoc reports as needed;
- Prepare and record some of the holding company's monthly general ledger close entries – equity method entries for investments in subsidiaries, interest rate swap adjustments & settlement, external/intercompany loan interest accrual & payments, and tax-related entries, etc.;
- Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts and any associated P&L activities for the holding company;
- Responsible and completing quarterly/yearly Government reporting requirements such as census reports requested by the United States Census Bureau;
- Assist with the annual impairment testing on goodwill and indefinite useful life intangibles;
- Assist with the annual valuation for a put option liability on minority interest;
- Assist with accounting research, provide recommendations on the application of accounting standards and document the Company's position with respect to accounting matters;
- Support KSOX implementation and audit process and maintain objective evidence for KSOX compliance;
- Assist in developing and maintaining internal controls around global consolidation process inclusive of process documentation;
- Responsible for the coordination with Pension and OPEB audit process; and
- Support and coordinate external audits on consolidated financial statements.
Telecommuting/WFH allowed. Position reports to Atlanta, Georgia.
Skills and Abilities Required:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
5 years of work experience in the job offered or related position; and
5 years of combined work experience with the following:
- Accounting experience with multi-national operations
- Working with a global company including currency translations and IFRS to US GAAP standards
- Researching accounting literature
- Preparing periodic financial reports
- ERP/system enhancement implementation
