Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Revenue Cycle Specialist to join our team. As a Revenue Cycle Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial success of our organization by managing the revenue cycle process. This includes billing, coding, claims management, and reimbursement analysis. Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze patient accounts to ensure accurate and timely billing
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for services
- Assign appropriate codes to diagnoses and procedures for billing purposes
- Submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by mail
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve any billing discrepancies
- Collaborate with internal departments to address any coding or documentation issues
- Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and changes in coding guidelines
- Provide support and training to staff regarding revenue cycle processes
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management
- Proficiency in medical coding systems (e.g., CPT, ICD-10)
- Knowledge of insurance guidelines, reimbursement methodologies, and billing practices
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems
