Overview:
The Pre-Litigation Personal Injury Attorney at Reid Law Group specializes in managing and facilitating legal matters related to personal injury cases before they reach the litigation phase. The primary focus of this role is to negotiate settlements, coordinate with insurance companies, and prepare cases for potential litigation if a settlement cannot be reached.
Responsibilities:
Client Consultation and Case Evaluation:
·Meet with clients to discuss their personal injury claims.
·Gather and analyze relevant information, including medical records, accident reports, and witness statements, to assess the strength of the case.
·Determine liability and identify potential parties responsible for the injuries.
Negotiation and Settlement:
·Communicate and negotiate with insurance companies, opposing attorneys, and other involved parties to reach fair settlements for clients.
·Evaluate settlement offers and advise clients on the best course of action.
·Negotiate compensation for medical expenses, property damage, lost wages, pain, and suffering.
Documentation and Case Preparation:
·Prepare and draft demand letters outlining the details of the client's injuries, liability, and damages.
·Organize and compile evidence, medical records, accident reports, and other pertinent documents to support the case.
·Calculate damages accurately, considering medical costs, future treatment, lost wages, and other relevant factors.
Client Communication:
·Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates on the case's progress and answer any questions.
·Educate clients about the legal process, their rights, and potential outcomes.
·Manage client expectations regarding settlement negotiations and potential litigation.
Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR):
·Explore alternative dispute resolution methods, such as mediation or arbitration, to achieve efficient and satisfactory outcomes for clients.
Legal Research and Strategy:
·Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and precedents related to personal injury cases.
·Develop effective legal strategies to strengthen clients' claims and maximize compensation.
Collaboration and Coordination:
·Work closely with other members of the legal team, including pre-litigation team, paralegals and investigators, to gather information and build a comprehensive case.
·Collaborate with medical professionals, accident reconstruction specialists, and other experts to support the case.
Case Management:
·Maintain accurate and organized case records, documentation, and correspondence.
·Keep track of important deadlines, statutes of limitations, and other legal requirements.
Qualifications:
· Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
· Active license to practice law in Georgia.
· Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a pre-litigation attorney.
· Strong understanding of personal injury laws, regulations, and procedures.
· Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
· Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
· Proficient in legal research, case management software, and Microsoft Office suite.
· Empathetic and client-focused approach to handling cases.
· Experience in pre-litigation personal injury field is preferred but not required.
