Full Job Description
Line Side Electric is looking for experienced foreman in Southern NJ/Philadelphia area. This is a full-time position, reporting to a PM. This role is responsible for over seeing electrical installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance within residential and commercial settings while mentoring apprentices when applicable. Electricians generally work a schedule of 7:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday – Friday. Schedules vary based on customer demand and may include overtime, early starts, nights, weekends and holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ability to lead a team in a cohesive manner and work closely with other individuals of any skill level.
- Start projects from the ground up, while working closely with the Project Manager to assure all projects are competed within a timely manner, on budget, and as per print.
- Oversee the Installs are in compliance with the National Electric Code (NEC)
- Performs installations according to the planned layout of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and blueprints.
- Installs conduit systems, various lighting systems, lighting control systems, power distribution feeders and makes standard motor connections.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
- Troubleshoot or test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeter to ensure compatibility and safety of the system.
- Cleans and maintains job site, tools, and vehicles
- Consistently follows workplace safety procedures and participates in toolbox talks, safety audits, and related safety functions
- Immediately identifies, corrects, and/or reports any unsafe acts, conditions, or incidents in a timely manner
- Works as a member of a cohesive team, helps coach and mentor less experience staff
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned
Key qualifications:
- 3 plus years of electrical Foreman experience
- 7 years electrical work experience
- Ability to work without direct supervision and help direct the work of less experienced staff even under pressure.
- Ability to adapt to a busy work environment, shift from one project to another, while maintaining professionalism to all customers and clients.
- Ability to travel regionally to project sites, work overtime and in varied weather conditions when needed.
- Maintain and create redline drawings/as-builts during construction and secure all paperwork throughout a project.
- Physical ability to work at elevated heights, lift a minimum of 50 lbs and maneuver in restricted/challenging spacing
