We recognize your expertise, passion, and commitment to accelerating outcomes for students, and we’re on a mission to make it worth your while to teach here.
Here’s why our educators love working at Ivy Street:
- A collaborative community. Our staff function as a team, and we prioritize opportunities for the team to come together. Teachers hold weekly classroom collaboration meetings and participate in monthly student rounds, allowing our team to monitor progress, develop plans, and execute actionable steps towards student success.
- Time for all students. Teachers have 8 students in their classroom or on their caseload. Our 4:1 student-to-staff ratio allows us to provide personalized attention to each of the young people we serve.
- Structured administrative time. We designate time within our school schedule for planning, meeting preparation, family communication, and documentation.
- Supportive IEP process. Our teachers play an integral role in developing academic and classroom goals for their students. IEP meetings are facilitated by the Director of Educational Operations and are preceded by an internal planning meeting to streamline our team’s collaboration.
- Continuous learning. Teachers participate in monthly all-school professional development, and an additional monthly training workshop focused on teaching and learning. They also receive consistent coaching and supervision through biweekly meetings with the Chief Learning Officer.
- Classroom needs covered. All spending for classroom needs is covered by the school, including a designated budget for community trips and school supplies.
- Generous and flexible time off. We offer a generous earned time program, including sick days and vacation time. Days off are not restricted to school breaks.
As a school community, we recognize and celebrate the expertise of our teaching staff. If you are an educator looking to elevate your career and make an impact on the lives of neurodivergent young people, we hope you will consider applying for the Special Education Teacher position at Ivy Street.
