SUMMARY: Assist the Human Resources Manager in the maintenance of the department including but not limited to, performing a wide variety of administrative and clerical duties, handling initial inquires and trouble-shooting general HR topics for current team Members, maintain rewards & recognition programs, driving team member engagement and communication, assisting with onboarding and new hire orientation. Responsible for accurate Human Resources data entry and other needed support while handling all information in a confidential and professional manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Ensures new hire process is followed to include complete adherence to the New Hire Checklist form and the addition of new employees into the payroll systems within 24-48 hours of hire.
· Maintains records of personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, performance reviews, and terminations. Processes Separation Checklist within 48-72 business hours of separation.
· Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation. May assist in conducting exit interviews, when appropriate, to determine reasons behind separations.
· Creates and places all advertising for open positions to include communication with guidelines set forth in the CBA.
· Responsible for completing employment verifications that release only dates of employment, position and pay within 24 business hours.
· Assists Human Resources Manager with Unemployment Responses for employees who have experienced reduction in hours or temporary lay-off.
· Completes administrative responsibilities as outlined in CBA to include Monthly Union Billing Reports, New Hire and Staffing Changes Report and Dependent Coverage Administration.
· Maintains complete discretion with confidential matters.
· Assists the Human Resources Manager with recruiting, screening. Acts as a second check to ensure internal processes for hiring have been completed.
· Processes employment paperwork and employee file maintenance.
· Responsible for the labor activities of the Hotel in their entirety to include, mandatory monthly reporting and weekly reports as required. Maintains accurate and organized payroll files.
· Assists Human Resources Manager with trainings to include roll-out of new SOP’s as well as Crowne Plaza Brand Trainings (New Hire Orientation).
· Maintains files for corporate documentation, including employee status and benefits program.
· Maintains complete and accurate files on all company benefits.
· Maintains a favorable working relationship with all employees to promote a cooperative and harmonious working environment in order to facilitate positive employee morale, productivity, and continued improvement.
· Responsible for communication of pertinent hotel information to include Monthly Newsletter; Associate Birthdays & Anniversaries. Assists the Human Resources Manager with other postings and notices as requested.
· Consults The Human Resources Manager regarding employee issues and passes on any complaints to for resolution.
· Completes other tasks and projects as assigned by the Human Resources Manager, General Manager, Assistant General Manager or Corporate Offices.
