GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, perform a variety of duties/tasks in the maintenance department.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Perform Maintenance tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
· General knowledge of carpentry, electrical, and plumbing.
· Diagnose and maintain plumbing problems including plugged toilets, sinks and fountains.
· Installs and replaces faucets and fixtures as needed.
· Diagnose and maintain electrical systems. Replace light fixtures; install outlets; replace switches and receptacles.
· Assist with maintenance of heat and ventilation systems, including generators.
· Assist with ground projects and mowing not currently assigned to custodians.
· Paint at all sites.
· Roof maintenance, repair, and replacement at each site.
· Repair, replacement and maintenance of windows, doors, lights, motor belts, pump motors, blower motors, etc.
· Maintains machinery and equipment; trouble shoots, cleans, repairs, and delivers to appropriate site.
· Assist during storms and other emergencies.
· Perform multiple carpentry tasks including installing doors, shelves, and windows. Install and/or repair fences; cleans graffiti from buildings.
· Observe all district safety policies and procedures and equipment maintenance and operation guidelines for district employee, student, and public safety.
· Communicate with Maintenance Supervisor regarding project & work progress.
· Perform related duties of a similar scope and nature as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Two (2) years of experience in grounds and building maintenance.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
· This is a year-round 260 days/year position.
· Five days/week, Monday through Friday; 8 hours/day.
· The rate of pay for General Maintenance is $30.15/hour, for the first six months (2022-2023 entry level) (23-24 TBD)
· Benefits in accordance with the SEBB/Health Care Authority (Medical, Dental, Vision, LTD, Life insurance)
· For qualifying positions, employees are offered enrollment with the Washington State Retirement Plan
