The Business Development Specialist is responsible for improving Mader’s market position and achieving financial growth by locating opportunities, developing/promoting Mader services, building client relationships and closing business deals.
Reporting to the Business Development Manager, key duties include, but are not limited to:
- Identify and screen potential opportunities by analyzing client needs, financial potential and logistical requirements.
- Proactively target organizations and establish relationships with those businesses that can benefit from Mader’s services.
- Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging existing network.
- Deliver tender pricing/solution to client. Follow up on submitted proposals through to signing.
- Handle objections by clarifying agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion.
- Travel to, and present at customer sites, industry events and corporate functions as necessary to perform duties and aid business development.
- Arrange meetings on or off site, engage other team members if necessary, minute meetings and follow up on required actions.
- Monitor and report on market/competitor activities, rates and products.
- Monitor and report on any threats or opportunities relating to competitors and current clients.
- Ensure new opportunities are in line with Mader business model and core values.
- Work in conjunction with marketing team on marketing strategies (including merchandise, flyers, web based and media based, expos and events) to improve Mader’s exposure.
- Develop a thorough understanding of Mader’s people and capabilities.
- Develop and deliver a weekly summary of activity, opportunities and travel plans to Business Development Manager
- Follow business development process and complete all necessary documentation and administration.
- Ensure compliance with each client.
- Adhere to systems and processes to ensure a standardised approach to opportunities database, tender preparation and cold call marketing.
- Use knowledge of the market and competitors to identify and utilize the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
- Minimum 2 years in sales/account management.
- Passionate and motivated individual who is driven by success and results.
- Proven ability to meet and exceed KPI’s and targets.
- Flexible to travel often, this is a key component of the role.
- Autonomous, hardworking individual who requires minimal supervision.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated networking experience, sales presentation and market knowledge.
- Honesty and integrity in all aspects of the role.
- Strong communication, presentation and business PC skills.
- Knowledge of Avetta, ISN, Ariba, etc. desirable
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Knowledge/experience working in the mining industry desirable.
- Understanding of heavy equipment maintenance and labor support services within the mining industry desirable.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
