Job Title: Lab Coordinator/ Instructor, Nursing
Reporting Structure: Department Chair of Nursing, Asst. Dean, and Dean, CoNHS

Job Summary:
The Nursing Lab Coordinator will take primary responsibility for all nursing skills and technology-related administration and supervision. The Coordinator will report directly to the Department Chair of Nursing and will serve as a support person for the nursing faculty and departments within the CoNHS.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- May be assigned teaching responsibilities/load.
- Maintenance of a Nursing Skills Lab Manual.
- Ensures that the learning environment enhances students' critical thinking ability and learning.
- Maintains open dialogue with the School of Nursing faculty and maintains a positive relationship with students.
- Conducts risk management assessments to evaluate the physical environments of the skills, simulation, and computer labs.
- Provides input concerning performance.
- Coordinates nursing skills and simulation activities.
- Orient students and faculty to the skills lab and equipment, and the simulation lab.
- Maintains inventory of all areas.
- Maintains equipment.
- Monitoring of all areas.
- Make recommendations concerning purchases.
- Scheduling of all areas.
- Maintain safe, clean environments.
- Maintain contracts with laundry and sharps collection services.
- Ensures preparation of skills and simulation labs are "set up" for uses at the request of faculty and students.
- Teach and assess psychomotor skills to nursing students
- Incorporates technology where applicable.
- Student advisement
- Attend and actively participate in faculty meetings
- Serve on School of Nursing standing committees
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Practical experience (5+ years).
- Teaching experience (2+ years).
- Knowledge of equipment in the skills and simulation labs.
- Ability to monitor three lab settings.
- Ability to manage the daily activities of three lab settings.
- Strong clinical and professional skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
- License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida.
Preferred Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Computer literate.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic Life Support Certification.
