The Staff Development Coordinator coordinates the education and staff development program. The coordinator develops and implements strategies to ensure Hospice Care Plus follows Medicare standards of practice through teaching. The coordinator is responsible for new hire orientation, EMR (Electronic Medical Record) training and ongoing management of education for all staff. Provision of DME (Durable Medical Equipment) with the QAPI Director.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
· Graduate of accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred)
· Licensed in Kentucky (RN (Registered Nurses))
· Three years of experience preferred in hospice or healthcare leadership.
· Previous leadership experience preferred
· Staff education and teaching experience preferred.
· Current Kentucky driver's license with unlimited access to a reliable automobile
with the appropriate insurance.
· Strong computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, & Power Point)
· Strong leadership and supervisory skill set.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The employee must be able to lift and/or move at least forty pounds using proper body mechanics and safety measures. Individual job responsibilities may require lifting more than forty pounds on occasion. Employees are regularly required to see, talk, and hear; frequently required to sit, stand, or walk and use hands; to handle, finger, or feel objects, tools or controls.

- Hospice Home Care: hospice care provided in the home, nursing home, or assisted living facility
- Compassionate Care Center: inpatient hospice care at our freestanding facility
- Bereavement Outreach: grief support for families as they receive hospice care and for one year after hospice services are completed
- Palliative Care Plus: a home-based consult service for patients with a chronic, progressive illness
