Review medical documentation and assign appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes according to established coding guidelines (ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS).

Ensure accuracy and completeness of coded data to support timely and accurate claims submission.

Conduct regular audits of coded records to identify errors, discrepancies, or areas for improvement.

Collaborate with healthcare providers and clinical staff to clarify documentation and resolve coding-related queries.

Stay current with changes in coding regulations, reimbursement policies, and industry trends to ensure compliance and optimize revenue cycle management.

Assist in the development and implementation of coding policies, procedures, and training programs.

Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to all relevant privacy and security regulations (e.g., HIPAA).

Participate in coding-related meetings, committees, and continuing education activities to enhance professional knowledge and skills.

Provide support and guidance to billing and revenue cycle teams regarding coding-related issues and queries.

Contribute to quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing coding accuracy, efficiency, and revenue integrity.
Qualifications:

Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or equivalent certification required.

Certified Orthopedic Surgery Coder (COSC) and Certified Ambulatory Surgery Center Coder (CASCC) certifications preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical coding in a healthcare setting.

Thorough understanding of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS coding systems and guidelines.

Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and coding software applications, preferably Epic.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
