Summary:
Reporting to the Director, the Manager of Pediatric Palliative Care is responsible for the supervision of the pediatric palliative care team to assure the efficient delivery of quality pediatric palliative care services.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Social Work, Child Life, M.Div, MSN, NP or related field with clinical experience with children with complex, life limiting illness and at least one year working in hospice or palliative care.
- Experience with staffing, management experience, and performance/service improvement in a multi-discipline clinical setting.
- Experience with electronic medical record and point-of-care documentation.
- Knowledge of palliative care philosophy and care, symptom management and assessment skills.
- Demonstrated ability to provide supervision to clinical staff.
- Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to be self-directed, flexible, and cooperative in fulfilling role obligation, and ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team
- Demonstrated empathy towards and ability to interact appropriately with patients of diverse social backgrounds, economic status, diverse cultures, and individual lifestyles.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and effectively in person, via telephone and via video conference.
- Demonstrated comfort with and ability to use appropriate technology effectively. This may include accessing multiple electronic medical systems, patient care apps, video and/or telemonitoring equipment.
