Montessori Kids Universe (MKU) is a premium preschool for kids ages 6 weeks to 6 years old. MKU schools strives to create an authentic Montessori and Reggio inspired environment by following the highest and best industry practices aligning with the teachings of Dr. Maria Montessori, Reggio Emilia and the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). It is a goal of every Montessori Kids Universe school to create a safe, nurturing environment that fosters independence, creativity and support for the whole child.
Montessori Kids Universe of Lorton is currently seeking to hire an experienced leader to join our team as a Head of School/Center Director.
Duties:
- Establish quality vision for the center. Manage adherence to quality standards in accordance with the vision and with state and local requirements. Maintain quality effectiveness measurements.
- Develop general educational curriculum; collaborate with staff to develop positive learning activities; manage adherence to state and local regulations.
- Achieving enrollment goals by being the primary contact for new and existing families, actively selling the value of the Montessori Kids Universe experience
- Directly responsible for selling the value of MKU to increase enrollment goals. Responsible for following-up on inquiries, scheduling appointments, conducting tours and tour follow-ups using Childcare CRM.
- Maintain student records in accordance with established enrollment procedures and guidelines.
- Maintain communications with parents of current and prospective students through direct conversation, newsletters and parent handbook; implement community outreach activities to maintain and promote positive community relationships.
- Approve menus and food purchases.
- Maintain positive relationships with regulatory agencies; ensure legal and financial compliance.
- Oversee all office functions including payroll, accounts payable and receivable, tuition billing and payment, human resources and personnel management (staff supervision) and purchasing.
- Resolve conflicts (including corrective action when necessary) to ensure a positive experience for everyone.
- Manage budget planning and review.
- Establish illness and emergency procedures; ensure staff is trained appropriately.
- Implement strategic plan and goals in keeping with mission of program.
- Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Requirements:
- 5 years of direct professional experience in an early childhood setting preferably as a director/manager of a licensed preschool or Childcare center
- Bachelor’s Degree in early childhood education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 credits in ECE.
- High energy with the ability to engage in public speaking engagements to promote the school.
- Strong oral and written communications skills; technology skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with the local education and Montessori Community and Associations.
- Ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
- A strong understanding of child development.
- Strong finance and budgeting skills.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Confident leader with prior responsibility for hiring, training, coaching and firing of staff.
- Ethical and dependable. Enthusiastic and energetic
- Knowledge of Virginia Childcare Rules & Regulations
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
- Must clear full background check.
- Must pass health screening.
Nice To Haves:
- Montessori accreditation a plus, commitment to obtaining accreditation required.
- Classroom teaching experience preferred.
- Experience in running a successful preschool business.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
