- Manage all financial accounting functions, including accounts payable & receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Prepare and review the monthly WIP schedule, job costing and progress billings using information provided by the project management team
- Oversee cash flow and perform active cash management / monitoring
- Oversee receivables, billing and collections
- Performance of month end close and account reconciliations, adjusting journal entries
- Preparation of monthly financial statement package and financial analysis
- Provide ongoing mentorship and training to staff, perform performance reviews, provide consistent and continuous feedback and career development for the team
- Work with Company President to create team goals, department goals and identify potential process improvements and ongoing team and staffing needs
- Measure, evaluate and report on team success and company financial metrics through established KPIs
- Work directly with third party CPA firm to prepare reports needed for tax filings and financial reviews
- Serve as point of contact for 401k administration
- Oversee budgeting and forecasting process, collaborating with project managers to develop and track project budgets
- Work closely with operations and project management team to provide financial insights and support informed decision-making.
You will report directly to the Company President, working with him to provide value added financial information, accurate financial packages and mentorship to the accounting team.
Construction Accounting Manager- Required Skills, Experience Culture Fit
- Construction accounting background, including WIP and progress billing accounting
- You have strong general ledger accounting experience and skills GAAP accounting, financial statement preparation and review
- You bring a service mindset and can identify potential solutions and remove obstacles to success for your team
- You are nimble and enjoy working both strategically and rolling up your sleeves
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and Sage100/Accounting Software
- Prior experience with an accounting software implementation
- Knowledge of prevailing wage reporting
- 4-year degree in accounting, finance or related
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of construction accounting principles and practices
- HR experience is a plus
This is 100% in office role.
Compensation $80K to $110K salaried based on experience.
