Overview:
We are seeking a Electrical Engineer to join the Design & Construction Design Product Line for our government agency client.
DUTIES:
The incumbent will serve as an Electrical Engineer within a multi-disciplinary architectural and engineering team. The position is in the Design & Construction Design Product Line located at Naval Base in Silverdale, Washington. Projects in Capital Improvements typically include large, complex projects within the NW area of responsibility and most are at the three Navy installations in the Puget Sound region and most are at the three Navy installations in the Puget Sound region.
The position responsibilities include:
- Design electrical engineering systems (15kv and 600v-and-below power and distribution, controls, communication, and lighting) for Supported Commands to create complete construction document packages (design drawings and specifications)
- Detailed electrical engineering review of proposed design-bid-build construction documents and design-build requests for proposal to accomplish facility construction, repair, maintenance, and renovation project execution.
- Apply electrical engineering knowledge to new and refurbishment projects and/or issues to determine the correct course of action.
- Prepare design contract scopes, design fee estimates, and fee reconciliations to facilitate contracting consulting services.
- Prepare design-build Requests for Proposal.
- Maintain ongoing knowledge of applicable electrical codes & regulations (National Electrical Code and National Electrical Safety Code) and Department of Navy criteria & policies (Unified Facility Criteria and Unified Facility Guide Specifications) to effect good business decisions and compliance.
- Provide continual management of client, project manager, and design team to maintain schedule adherence.
- Participate in resolving complex construction and contractual problems.
- Conduct field investigations with other team members and consultants to verify design, engineering and construction conformance.
- Perform electrical distribution system studies, calculations, and evaluations.
- Contribute to advance planning activities for facility construction, repair, maintenance, and renovation projects planned for up to 5 years in the future.
- Prepare for, manage, and lead major project meetings.
- Perform computer aided drafting, calculations, and studies in support of design-bid-build construction document preparation.

Pay: $87,614.00 - $113,902.00 per year
