DUTIES: Apply knowledge of health care and database management to analyze clinical data, and to identify and report trends. Duties to include: Perform detailed analysis of large bodies of heterogeneous data in order to discover new patterns and insights having an impact upon patient health and augmenting human capabilities; Use, protect, and disclose patient protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards; Research, collect, and analyze primary and secondary data sources and reports trends to support department goals; Design and evaluate database systems and data models to support department needs; Develop and maintain organized documentation for efficient department operations; Support performance improvement duties for the department; Recommend strategies in relation to report building and data capture for internal customers; Work with knowledge operators, informaticians and clinicians and partner other departments to develop and deploy DS models to bring AI and analytic solutions to nontechnical users; Develop predictive models on datasets to address various business problems including Population Health, Social Determents of Health, and Patient Behaviors; Support data analysis interpretation by applying findings to contextual settings under the guidance of more senior employees; Develop reports and presentations telling a compelling story to enable and influence decision making; and Manage a varied workload of projects with multiple priorities and stay current on healthcare trends and enterprise changes. The position reports to the El Segundo, CA office and allows for partial telecommuting.
REQUIREMENTS: Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field and completion of a university-level course, research project, internship, or thesis or one year of experience in the job offered or a related actuarial sciences occupation involving each of the following:
- Microsoft Excel including PowerPivot, Power Query, and VBA;
- Financial modeling including budgeting, cost projections, revenue analysis, sensitivity analysis, and FP&A;
- Operational modeling including staffing models, patient flow models, and clinic capacity analysis;
- Regression, ANOVA, and predictive modeling;
- Data mining using techniques such as classification, clustering, and XGBoost;
- Programming languages: Python, R, or SAS;
- Machine learning algorithms such as random forests, SVM, or K-means;
- Big data platforms: Hadoop or Spark;
- Data visualization using Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView; and
- Cloud platforms: Apache Spark or Snowflakes.
RATE OF PAY: $120,992 - $163,695 / per year
