Nursery 3 Lead Teacher
Holy Child Academy in Drexel Hill is expanding the current Nursery 3 program and is seeking a full time teacher for a Nursery, Montessori-influenced, three year old program. This is an exceptional opportunity for a professional to work with children in a well-developed program, partnering with engaged families and supportive colleagues. The successful candidate will be a creative and energetic educator who is passionate about the merits of the Montessori approach and the value of a private, faith-based experience for children. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement a program of engaging and challenging classroom activities incorporating both the Montessori method of education along with traditional early childhood aspects as well.
- Partner with the current Nursery teachers to develop and expand the Nursery program
- Maintain active partnerships with parents with open and effective communication.
- Employ effective classroom management techniques to create a peaceful, orderly, and productive environment; help students develop positive behaviors and self-control to assist them in learning.
- Provide a safe and secure environment that encourages students’ self-confidence and achievement.
- Actively participate in division and faculty meetings, in-service days, and committee meetings.
- Maintain an active commitment to professional growth and development.
- Support HCA’s advancement and growth by assisting at Open Houses and other promotional events.
Essential Qualifications
- BA or BS in early childhood education or a related field
- Experience as an early childhood teacher
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and superior public-speaking and presentation skills
- Proficiency with educational technology
- Outstanding organizational skills
- High energy and creativity
- Authentic passion for education of young people
- Desire to advance the mission and goals of Holy Child education and participate fully in the life of the school community
- Demonstrated success in effective classroom management, student engagement, and high quality instruction
- Proficiency with differentiated instruction
- Clearances required: FBI Fingerprinting, PA State Police Clearance, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, Mandated Reporter Training, Act 168 disclosure releases from former employers
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a Catholic, independent school environment
- Two to five years experience as an early childhood teacher
- Master’s degree in education or related field
- Montessori certification
- Teaching certification

Pay: $37,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
