This key position oversees the operations team and guides programs, ensuring effective staffing and quality, and meeting our business and customer service goals. Recommends and contributes to the creation and implementation of Commonwealth Senior Living policies and procedures and monitors the adherence to these and all regulatory requirements to ensure a safe and productive environment for both residents and associates, staff advancement and recruitment procedures.

Routine Functions of the Position:
- Monitors implementation of standard policies and procedure dictated by CSL, local, state and federal laws and regulations. When necessary, recommends change and/or corrective action and keeps COO informed of outcomes.
- Is responsible for approving and routinely monitoring implementation of staffing schedules and operating budgets.
- In collaboration with Regional Vice President, Subject Matter Experts, and Executive Directors identifies opportunities for operational improvement and assists in planning implementation.
- Assists Regional Vice Presidents and community teams with annual inspections; reviews plans of correction prior to submission and ensures implementation at the community level through support of the Regional Vice President and collaboration with Subject Matter Experts.
- Contributes to selection and is responsible for training, leadership development of Regional Vice Presidents and Executive Directors.
- Supports and implements CSL policies for associate development and learning.
- Assesses safety and security of residents, staff, and visitors in communities and promotes an environment that minimizes risks of physical injury and is free from discrimination and abuse in all forms.
- Assists investigations of complaints and/or complex issues involving residents or associates where appropriate and assists in implementing (or directing) follow-up steps.
- Ensures proper levels of care for residents are offered and charges are billed appropriately.
- Monitors communities’ key performance indicators (KPIs) monthly and quarterly; works with Regional Vice Presidents and community teams to correct deficiencies and improve outcomes.
- Regularly communicates with Regional Vice Presidents, Subject Matter Experts, and Senior Leadership Team to understand the issues and to coordinate operations within all departments.
- Keeps the Senior Leadership Team informed of important operational or physical plant issues that pose risk of harm to residents and associates.
- Participate in annual capital walk-throughs at each community to lead the annual capex planning process with VP of Maintenance & Capex to ensure safety, marketability, and financial stewardship are completed annually across all regions.
