Under the supervision of the Manager, performs a wide variety of clerical, compliance, and tracking tasks to ensure the department operates in an efficient manner. In relevant units, accesses, organizes, maintains, and retrieves pertinent patient medical records. Scan, index, and file patient records as needed.
Education – Graduation from high school or the equivalent required. Graduation from Medical Secretary or Medical Records course preferred.
Experience – Computer and keyboard experience required to include working knowledge of Excel spread sheets and Microsoft Word. Previous medical office experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities – Excellent communication skills, including proper grammar usage and the ability to manage confidential patient information. Data entry and proofreading skills required. Typing experience required. Will be required to pass a typing test.
