The Senior SQL DBA will manage and maintain our SQL Server databases, ensuring their performance, availability, and security. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the banking sector and a deep understanding of regulatory requirements and best practices in database management within financial services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain robust SQL Server databases to support banking applications and services.
- Ensure high availability, performance, and security of databases through best practices and regular maintenance.
- Monitor and optimize database performance, including query tuning and indexing.
- Manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
- Implement and enforce database security policies and procedures to comply with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with development teams to design and optimize database schemas and queries.
- Perform database upgrades, patch management, and migrations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, providing support to development and production environments.
- Conduct regular database audits and reviews to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior database administrators and IT staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience as a SQL DBA, with at least 3 years in the banking industry.
- Proficiency in SQL Server, including versions [specify relevant versions].
- Strong understanding of banking industry regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., SOX, PCI DSS).
- Experience with database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing.
