Responsibilities:
- Provide daily care and support for both cats and dogs, per protocols
- Maintain a clean sanitary environment - follow safety protocols
- Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to the supervisor
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinary staff
- Assist with grooming and bathing animals
- Exercise and socialize animals to ensure their well-being and adoptability
- Maintain accurate records of animal care and observations
Clean and maintain common areas
Maintain and clean shelter supplies/equipment
Help with laundry, dishes, organizing/put away supplies
Assist other workers, volunteers, and visitors
Skills:
- Dog handling: Ability to handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments safely and effectively
- Kennel: Familiarity with kennel operations, including cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining a safe environment for animals
- Aseptic technique: Understanding of sterile procedures to prevent infection in animal care settings
- Veterinary assistant: Experience or training as a veterinary assistant, including knowledge of basic medical procedures and terminology
- Animal care: General knowledge of animal behavior, nutrition, hygiene, and welfare principles
- Pet care: Ability to provide compassionate care for pets, including feeding, exercise, and basic grooming
Note: While not all skills may be required for every position, having a combination of these skills will be beneficial for the role of an Animal Caretaker.

Able to do the following:
Read, write, understand written and oral instructions.
Work well with others.
Handle large animals safely and humanely.
Stand for long periods of time.
Lift 50 lbs. safely.
Be reliable, dependable, responsible, polite, and courteous.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
