Role:
The Collections Manager will oversee the collection efforts and delinquency controls of the company, ensuring money owed is invoiced and received correctly and promptly.
Responsibilities:
- Researches, develops, and facilitates B2B collection procedures consistent with company polices and values.
- Ensures proper preparation and delivery of letters, notices, and other communications regarding delinquent accounts.
- Negotiates with customers to amend repayment terms, as appropriate.
- Recommends legal action for specific accounts and works with legal counsel as necessary.
- Communicates the status of delinquent accounts to the company’s executive leadership team.
- Reviews accounts and recommends charge-offs as appropriate; supervises approved accounts’ charge-off procedures and makes reports to credit reporting agencies.
- Ensures the security and privacy of customer information and files.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Required Skills:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required (any major); Finance or Accounting major or minor preferred
- 5+ years working in a business-to-business collections position
Required Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
- Experienced with Zoho or other CRM platform.
- Demonstrated rhetorical and creative problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with a team and independently.
- Basic understanding of statistics and data analysis.
- Understanding of applicable state and federal collection laws.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
