One of Sarasota’s oldest and rapidly-growing private music schools is looking for a part time Administrative Assistant and Front Desk employee.
The Suzuki Institute School of Music is one of the oldest and most reputable schools offering music lessons in the Sarasota, FL area. Established in 1989, we are celebrating three decades of excellence in music education. Generations of students have studied with us and many have gone on to professional careers in music. We teach beginners, advanced, children and adults alike. Our youngest students are barely three years old and the oldest are retirees in their golden years.
Our teachers hold advanced degrees in their fields, including Master's and Doctorate degrees in music from top-notch institutions. They have been carefully selected for their deep knowledge and professional experience. But above all, they love what they do and are truly gifted at working with their students.

EXPERIENCE:
-Minimum of 3 years of sales and customer service experience in a fast-paced environment with a lot of interaction with the public, such as: restaurant, hospitality, retail, medical office, etc. Need experience in resolving conflicts and dealing with potentially difficult customers.
JOB DUTIES:
-Answering phones (we're looking for the GOLDEN VOICE that sounds amazing on the phone with a great tone and excitement for our customers. If anyone has told you that your voice should be on the radio, we're looking for you!)
-Selling our school on the phone and in person to potential clients is one of the most important parts of this position
-Following up on leads and keeping notes on communications
-Registering clients using our web-based system
-Managing and updating schedules for students and teachers
-Interacting with customers, addressing their needs and concerns
-Keeping studios and waiting/common areas neat and tidy, ready for instruction
-Maintaining office equipment and stocking supplies
-Assisting with occasional recitals and concerts
-Communicating with teachers, staff and clients in person and via phone, sms and email
-Working closely with and under the guidance of the Office Manager to keep the office running smoothly

-Sales, Restaurant, Hospitality, Educational Industry, Customer Support
-Any position that is fast-paced, with a lot of interaction with the public
-Must be able to deal with multi-tasking at our busiest times while fielding multiple requests for information/assistance
-A ‘people-person’ who enjoys meeting, greeting, guiding and interacting with people of all ages
-Calm under pressure and able to resolve occasionally difficult issues and stressful situations
-Cheerful personality with a sense of humor and a positive mental attitude
-Comfortable with technology
-Ability to work alone or (on occasion) collaboratively with others
-Effective communicator with a good grasp of language; good verbal and writing skills
-Interested in personal and professional development
-Punctual and reliable
-Great memory with the ability to remember lots of details. Forgetful types need not apply; this job has a lot of moving parts
-Meticulous approach in maintaining a to-do list and following through with tasks
-Highly organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks and accomplish them in an efficient, time-sensitive order
-An ability to sell themselves as well as our services, on the phone and in person. Looking for someone with a great personality that is a people-person.
