Coordinates activities of engineering, tool design, purchasing, and other departments, to facilitate production or procurement of tooling.
Responsibilities (This section is not inclusive. Other duties may be assigned as necessary).
· Assist in the preparation or prepare investment and expense budgets for addition, modification, replacement, or disposal of facilities/equipment or process-related projects.
· Specify and select new capital equipment; oversee its installation, start-up, and sound operations, including tooling and processes.
· Manage all timelines, budgets, and activities pertaining to Dies including design and design reviews, build and tryout, feasibility studies, APQP, tooling approvals and buy-offs, Run to Rate, PPAP submissions, and hand-off to production as well as provide follow-up support such as troubleshooting, engineering changes, etc.
· Attend and actively participate in the APQP meetings and associated activates (Tryouts, PPAP, Run to Rate, etc.).
· Work in conjunction with Commodity and Team Buyers, and the Supplier Quality Engineers to reduce ppms and ensure proper maintenance and construction of tooling. Document corrective action in a format to be forwarded to the customer as verification of changes taken to remedy the issue.
· Coordinate efforts between the Tool Room and Quality Control to ensure the monthly die recertification requirements are completed and all applicable paperwork is documented according to QMS-EMS standards.
· Coordinate engineering changes through the tool room. Generate and distribute tooling progress reports as required.
· Investigate and implement new tooling technology, i.e., coating, steel, etc.
· Complete extensive reporting with timely follow-through both written and verbal
· Project assignments could potentially require up to 40% travel with some travel being outside North America.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements
· Journeyman Tool & Die Maker
· 3 - 5 years’ experience in Project Management for automotive stamping a plus
· Technical skills in engineering management, quality assurance, and costing
· Adaptability to multiple computer programs and systems used for reporting.
· Ability to meet extensive reporting and documentation requirements
· Ability to work effectively across cultures in a global environment.
· Ability to develop and maintain a positive and productive relationship with internal and external customers.
· Influence team members from other functional areas
· Analytical problem-solving.
· Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments.
Working Conditions
· Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
· Job duties may require early morning, late evening, and weekend work times.
· Job duties may require overnight and international travel.
