POSITION SUMMARY
The Camp Nurse holds a current RN, LPN, LVN or EMT licensure. If Camp Nurse does not hold an RN licensure, they will work under the supervision of the Down Home Ranch RN. The nurse position oversees the healthcare and well-being of all campers and camp staff attending the Ranch Camp program.This includes first aid, triaging and responding to emergency medical situations, organization and dispensing of medication, monitoring health symptoms for illness, completing necessary treatments, completing necessary documentation and medical records and communicating with responsible parties of campers and any medical professionals deemed necessary. The camp nurse maintains health records and patient confidentiality. The camp nurse works in the scope of his/her training and licensure.

Sunday-Friday during Camp Sessions
Requirements:
· Must be at least 21 years old
· Current RN, LPN, LVN or EMT licensure/certification in good standing
· Complete a background check, drug test and TB test
· Abstain from tobacco, alcohol and drug use during camp contract
· Follow all policies and procedures outlined in the Ranch Camp Staff Manual
· Complete required training and certifications
· Enjoy being outdoors and being involved in activities
· Be a champion for the camp experience for campers and staff
· Have a heart for working with campers who have a developmental or intellectual disability
· Willingness and ability to provide assistance as needed for camper’s daily living skills
· Be willing to live on-site when camp is in session
· Be able to regulate emotions and keep up with day to day camp life
· Desire to have fun, make memories, and grow as a person in the best possible way
Duties:
· Nursing care consists of evaluating and treating camper's minor injuries and illnesses
· Maintain health logs for each camper to document any issues
· Recommend and provide support and information to counselors and other camp staff as needed.
· Identifying health problems serious enough to require a physician's attention.
· Lead medication check-in and checkout for opening and closing day of each camp.
· Administer camper and counselor medications on regular basis throughout camp.
· On site and on call 24/7 during camps
· Provide first aid care as necessary
· Foster a commitment to win-win resolutions that will lead to providing the best services possible to residents.
· Contact camper responsible parties/emergency contacts in the event of an illness or medical issue
· Work in accordance with the policy and procedures established for programing as written in the Down Home Ranch employee handbook and Ranch Camp healthcare policies and procedures
· Serve as a resource expert for your assigned area of the function of Ranch Camp.
· Exercise stewardship over Ranch resources including, but not limited to: time of staff, talent of staff, financial and physical property.
· Provide good customer service skills
· Maintain a safe work environment ensuring all safety protocols and standards are met
· Maintain inventory of medical supplies and over the counter medications
· Other duties as assigned
