We are looking for an engaging and personable individual to join our Children Services team. Our Social Services Placement Coordinator position works directly with foster and adoption families, and children in these placements. The purpose of this position is to ensure child safety and facilitate and counsel foster and adoptive families to promote long-term child permanence. The Placement Coordinator also spends time conducting home studies, recommending placement options for children in care, and presents speeches to interested community groups regarding the services the agency provides.

Position Overview
Under the direct supervision of the Children Services Administrator, the Social Services Placement Coordinator coordinates all foster and adoption activities, recruits, screens, counsels children and potential foster and adoptive families to ascertain their ability to assume the responsibilities and meet the goals of the program. This position conducts all home studies needed ad submits and recertifies foster care home license applications to the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services for approval. This position also acts as the liaison between social workers and foster/adopt parents.
The Placement Coordinator works closely with the child and his/her family to develop and implement the case plan and reviews, writes and maintains detailed and accurate summaries, plans, reports, and case records. This position also regularly transports or arranges for transportation for clients, parents, foster/adopt parents to appointments as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
In accordance with the Ohio Revised Code, applicants of a Public Children Services Agency must have one of the following:
1. A bachelor’s degree in human services- related studies, or
2. A bachelor’s degree in any field and have been employed for at least two years in a human services occupation, or
3. An associate degree in human services-related studies, or
4. Been employed for at least five years in a human service- related occupation.
*** For employment to continue a person described in options 2, 3, or 4 above MUST obtain a job-related bachelor’s degree no later than five (5) years after the date employment with the agency commences.
