Responsibilities
- Attends project site visits to assist in the development of scope of work and help define project objectives.
- Prepares engineering cost estimate and man-hour estimates and schedules.
- Develops top level documents for Electrical Physical and Protection & Control packages.
- Provides guidance to junior engineers and/or designers in the development of detailed design documents.
- Performs calculations for studies and reports including, but not limited to, grounding & lightning protection, and AC/DC load studies.
- Performs quality control reviews of design calculations, and drawings.
- Provides short term field support during construction.
- Coordinate design activities with other disciplines (Civil/structural, telecom, transmission, etc.)
- Serves as technical advisor for the team.
- Properly apply client’s substation design standards.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
- 8+ years of experience working in substation design or similar with utility or consulting engineering firm.
- Proficient using Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Basic written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer’s License in Electrical Engineering preferred but not required.
- High level understanding of Southern California Edison’s substation design standards
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
