As a Coding Auditor and Trainer with Coker Group, you will be an integral force in healthcare documentation integrity, medical coding and auditing, and provider education. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our healthcare clients maintain compliance with documentation, coding, and billing guidelines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct rigorous, independent audits encompassing coding, documentation, and billing compliance. Audits will range from multi-specialty Evaluation & Management (E/M) assignment, third-party billing/reimbursement, surgical note reviews, and documentation.

Uphold the highest organizational and professional ethical standards while mentoring and educating both fresh and seasoned healthcare providers and leaders.

Manage and oversee risk-based audits, conduct regulatory research, spearhead investigations, and engage actively in the claims review process.

Perform meticulous quality assurance reviews and promptly elevate any compliance issues to service line leadership.

Innovate, adapt, and update training materials; also, orchestrate and lead training sessions based on current needs.

Analyze a broad range of documentation, participate in interviews, and maintain comprehensive work papers.

Systematically record all audit findings, presenting detailed and concise final reports.

Operate autonomously with minimal supervision, placing a premium on initiative and independent judgment in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.

Travel as and when business needs arise.

An Associate’s degree or minimum of 5 years in healthcare coding/auditing in the realm of coding/auditing.

A certificate in coding through the AAPC, AHIMA, or other equivalent program certificate is required. CPMA or equivalent is a plus. Experience with Risk Adjustment and/or inpatient coding a plus.

A comprehensive understanding of healthcare practices, operations, physician coding compliance, medical terminology, patient care standards, and clinical documentation.

Prior auditing experience in a healthcare consulting firm environment preferred.

Proficiency regarding government regulatory processes and guidelines.

Proven expertise in areas such as HIPAA, data privacy, and data security processes.

Previous engagement with regulators governing either public or private health insurance carriers.

Proficiency in interpreting and implementing Federal and State regulations, coding, and billing specifications.

Mastery in Microsoft Office applications; Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

Demonstrated skill in constructive feedback, critical analysis, and unraveling complex coding conundrums.

Stellar written and oral communication skills, ensuring clarity and understanding in interactions.

Strong interpersonal abilities for smooth collaboration and interaction with diverse roles, from management tiers to providers and physicians.

Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and a keen focus on confidentiality and integrity in all actions and decisions.
COMPENSATION:

Base compensation ranges between $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 based on candidate's qualifications and experience
