This is a term position not to exceed 13 months. Term positions may be extended up to a maximum of 6 years, and MAY NOT be converted to permanent.
Term employment is subject to a one-year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Tools and Parts Attendant ~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common warehousing techniques such as receiving, storing, issuing, and re-warehousing materials. I can interpret and apply warehouse plans and check numbers and names of items on container labels to receiving documents. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
- Physical Effort
- Work assignments involve standing, climbing, bending and occasional work is cramped and awkward positions. Lifts and carries objects weighing up to 40 pounds
- Working Conditions
- Work is performed in storage area that is well lighted, clean, and well heated but occasionally drafty and noisy. There is some possibility of minor cuts and bruises.
