As a Senior Journalist on the team you’ll work with colleagues across the BBC, and in our Streaming Control Centres in Washington DC, London and Sydney to showcase BBC News at its best.
Since launch, BBC News’ streams have reached millions of users in the UK and around the world. Across bbc.com, the BBC News website and app on our live pages, BBC Sounds and in the UK on BBC iPlayer we bring audiences live coverage of the biggest stories - delivering the best of the BBC’s journalism 24/7. Following significant investment in digital teams across BBC News, the team is now expanding and broadening to deliver non-stop coverage around the clock, from across the globe.
You’ll be responsible for producing and outputting a wide variety of live news coverage – in a busy election year in the United States. You’ll specialise in US coverage, but also lend a hand to stories around the world and in the UK. The successful candidate will be at home with breaking news, or pre-planned major events. With a keen eye for moments, you’ll help amplify the best of the BBC to audiences wherever they are with us, digitally.
Streaming is a major priority for BBC News across our platforms. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of the industry; you’ll be motivated to embrace the challenge and work with others to seize the opportunity.
Senior Journalists in the team will be expected to work across a variety of daytime, evening and weekend shifts to deliver always on News coverage across BBC platforms.
